Confirmation: A Sacred Step in Faith

The Sacrament of Confirmation marks a significant milestone in the Catholic journey. While Baptism opens the door to our faith, Confirmation strengthens and deepens this commitment before First Holy Communion. During this Sacrament, candidates renew their baptismal promises with the guidance of a sponsor—a practicing Catholic they choose to mentor them as they prepare to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Typically, children receive Confirmation around age seven or eight, which the Church recognizes as the age of reason. This timing reflects the Sacrament's nature as a spiritual coming-of-age, though some may remember receiving these Sacraments in a different order if they were confirmed more than 30 years ago. Today's sequence—Baptism, Confirmation, then First Holy Communion—returns to the ancient tradition of the Church. Hence, Confirmation program will be conducted at St Bernardine’s Church. If you would like to have your child confirmed, please complete the registration form below to begin the process.
